We Came Up in Salvage Yards, Not Boardrooms

Reap My Ride didn't start in a boardroom. It started in salvage yards, tow lots and scrap metal facilities — pulling parts, running a scale, and learning exactly what makes one junk car worth $200 and another worth $2,000.

Working in the industry, you learn which buyers are straight with sellers and which ones are not. Reap My Ride exists to put the first group in front of you and keep the second group out.

Reap My Ride is a marketplace, not a buyer. You describe your car once, screened local buyers compete for it, and the one you choose tows it for free and pays you at pickup. Because we don't buy the car ourselves, we can hold the buyers to a written standard — and tell you what it is.

The Junk Car Industry Has Three Big Problems

01

The bait & switch

You accept a quote, and when the driver shows up they offer less, hoping you'll take it because the truck is already there. On Reap My Ride, lowering an offer without a documented reason is a strike against the buyer.

02

The runaround

You call five companies, get five very different numbers, and nobody explains why. Here the inputs are public: weight, scrap rate, condition, parts.

03

The lowball trap

Plenty of buyers offer a fraction of what a car is worth and count on you having nothing to compare against. One offer is a number. Several offers is a market.

Built by People Who've Worked in Salvage Yards

The team behind Reap My Ride has more than a decade in auto recycling — buying junk cars, running salvage operations and working directly with metal recyclers. We kept seeing the same thing: a seller accepts a number, waits at home, and the driver arrives with a lower one. Reap My Ride launched in 2024 so a buyer who does that answers for it.

Reap My Ride has been featured in Auto Recycling World.

Six Things You Can Count On

  • Transparent pricing. Vehicle weight and the current scrap rate drive the number. Buyers price on the same inputs, and you see what each one lands on.
  • The price you accepted. As long as the car is what you described, that is the price you are handed. A buyer who lowers it without a documented reason takes a strike.
  • Always free towing. Towing is the buyer’s expense, and charging a seller for it is a strike.
  • Same or next-day pickup. Most pickups happen within a day of accepting an offer. Buyers who miss a window lose standing in the network.
  • Title help. We know what each state requires when the title is lost, and buyers bring the forms to pickup.
  • Any condition, any vehicle. Running, wrecked, flooded, fire-damaged or missing wheels — buyers take cars, trucks, vans and SUVs.

The Standard Is Written Down

None of this is worth much without a mechanism behind it. Every promise to you is a condition a buyer accepted, and every buyer is scored on whether they kept it.
